Overview
Jarrahdale Orchards irrigates its pome and stone fruit from bore-fed ponds. Two Filtaworx FW100 automatic filters keep suspended material out of the irrigation network.
The Challenge
Jarrahdale Orchards is a commercial grower of pome and stone fruit in the Perth Hills, WA. Crop health and yield depend on reliable irrigation right through the growing season.
The irrigation water comes from bore-fed ponds and carries suspended material. Left in the water, it reaches the irrigation infrastructure downstream.
The orchard needed filtration that runs continuously and cleans itself, without someone on hand to service it.
The Solution
Two Filtaworx FW100 Automatic Self-Cleaning Screen Filters, installed as separate systems at different points in the irrigation network.
Each filter carries a 120 micron screen and a hydraulic rinse controller, and runs at about 6 bar. The controller uses the available line pressure to clean the screen when needed, with no separate power or operator required.
