Bernard Brewery

The Bernard Brewery has its own underground wells in the unspoiled countryside around Humpolec. This ensures the consistently excellent quality of the water used to brew Bernard beer. An automatic Filtaworx FW-50 screen filter at the entrance to the water treatment plant removes undissolved solids from the well water.

It serves as the first reliable element of a chemical-free water treatment plant. Filtaworx FW-50 lightens the load on subsequent sand filtration.

Challenge

Removal of fine undissolved solids from water from underground wells. In particular, fine sand that occurs naturally in the vicinity of the well.

Solution

Installation of an automatic Filtaworx FW-50 mesh filter with hydraulic drive and a mesh size of 100 micron. The filter significantly reduced the load of undissolved solids on the main sand filtration system.

Results

Reliable continuous water filtration at the inlet to the treatment plant, relieving the subsequent sand filtration. Reducing the load on sand filters significantly extends the filtration cycle and reduces the amount of backwash water.
